COVEL — Janice S. Cecil, 70, of Covel, departed this world and went to be with her Lord and Savior as well as her family on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton. Born April 24, 1939 at Crystal, she was the daughter of the late George Cecil and Gracie White Cecil. Mrs. Cecil was a resident of Covel for 64 years. She went to work at Princeton Community Hospital on March 29, 1967 and worked as an LPN for 26 years and 8 months. Janice had a heart of gold and spent her life caring and doing for others. She cherished the time she spent with her family and many special friends. She attended Garwood Church of God. Janice will live on through organ donation through CORE. The family encourages everyone to give the gift of life through organ donation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, G.C. Cecil. Left to cherish her memory include two brothers, Verland Cecil and his wife Delores of Covel and Dwight Cecil of Roanoke, Va.; two nieces, Pamela Cecil Belcher and her husband Eric and Anita Cecil, all of Covel; three nephews, Donald Cecil and his wife Belinda of Hickory Grove, S.C., Rick Cecil of Morrisville, N.C. and George Cecil and his wife Regina of Manteo, N.C. Janice loved and adored her great-nieces and nephews, Madonna Marsh, Brandon Belcher, Candace Belcher, Christopher Cecil, Kayla Cecil, Ashley Cecil, Aryn Cecil, Landon Riley and September Riley; and her dog, Fifi. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Gary Eskins officiating. Also speaking will be the Rev. Ricky Shrewsbury and Margaret Holt. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
