Tilda Sophia Lanter
MONTCALM — Tilda Sophia Lanter, 84, of Box 171, Montcalm (Lorton Lick
Road), passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1922 in McComas to the late William G. Dunford and
Mandy Scott Dunford.
Tilda was a member of the Wesleyan Church on Lorton Lick Road and was a
resident of Montcalm for most of her life. She was formerly a legal
secretary for Feuchtenberger & Barringer Legal Corporation in Bluefield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Malcom
Jeffery Lanter and her loving husband: Emmett William Lanter.
Survivors Include: Three sons: Allen Jackson Lanter of Pulaski, Va., Ralph
Warren Lanter of Rock, Timothy Carter Lanter of Welch; two daughters:
Dolores Eloise Bowling of Proctorville, Ohio, Joyce Ann Patterson of Monett,
Mo.; one sister: Naomi Patterson of Green Valley; 14 grandchildren and 27
great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Barry Wright
officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens
in Princeton.
Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell
on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
