Cletus K. Mabe
MONTCALM - Cletus K. Mabe , 85, of Colt St.,
Montcalm, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at Princeton Community
Hospital in Princeton.
Born on May 24, 1920 in Windmill Gap, he was a son
of the late Estil C. Mabe and Stella Phillips Mabe.
He had been a
resident of Montcalm since 1945 and was a retired coal miner having retired from
Eastern Coal Company at Herndon, with 34 years of service in the mining
industry. He was a member of the U.M.W.A and was of the Christian
Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three
sisters, Brookie Mabe, Bertha Webb and Maggie Lawson; and two brothers, William
and Henry Mabe.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Elizabeth
Beggs Mabe of Montcalm; sons, Randall Mabe of Montcalm, Darrell Mabe and wife,
Deonna of Princeton, Larry Mabe of Montcalm, Frederick Mabe of Rock, eight
grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be
conducted on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005 at 8 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home
with the Rev. Eddie Via officiating. Burial will take place on Saturday at 11
a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton, where
grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home today from 6-8 p.m.
Those attending the
graveside rites are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Saturday by
10:30 a.m.
